For seasons after the hardest time in the lives of the four clans, there is finally peace at last. All the cats from the old prophecy have all died off, but the clans still honor the warriors of the great leader, Firestar's time. Despite the peace, there is a darkness settling across the clans, coming from the distance, to a threat that they never thought would have been heard from again. Bloodclan have a new leader. A cold, ambitious tom. The stories of the battle that Bloodclan lost between the forest clans haved stayed with the cats of the twolegplace forever, and the new leader wants revenge. Building Bloodclan again will take time, but small raids on the clan's patrols can easily hurt many cats, forest cat and Bloodclan alike. The clan's just expect that the threat will pass, if they do not retaliate, as many of their cats are already injured, or killed. What the clans do not know, is that the attacking cats are from their old enemy, Bloodclan, as they had never expected that threat to rise again. In the distant mountains the Tribe of Rushing Water have been living in fear. As the clans live in the old forest, the problem with Sharptooth, and the journey never happened. The old mountain lion had died off long ago, so what possibly could be threatening the tribe in the mountains? Twolegs have been moving further and further up into their home, bringing big, tall pelts that are stretched over hard sticks, and the twolegs stay inside. They bring fires, and dogs, and stay in the mountains while the prey is full, scaring off the little prey the mountain cats have. They can hardly hunt as the dogs are always scaring them off, although fortunately, the unintelligent creatures are too afraid to go near the waterfall. The Tribe of Endless Hunting has been sending signs to the Teller, about cats who might be able to help, if only one of them was able to go and ask. In the time of greatest need, the four clans and the Tribe, may finally meet, and work together to save each other.
